Wolves, who featured Ethan Ebanks-Landell in their line-up, had the better of the chances in the Premier League 2 encounter and will feel they should have ended the game with a victory but they could not find their way past a Villa side who had their own opportunities last night.

The home side’s Elliot Watt and Niall Ennis both had early shots blocked and looked dangerous on the attack. Benny Ashley-Seal and Ryan Giles also both went close before the break.

Villa came into the game more after half-time but it was still Wolves who had the better chances. Oskar Burr Rasmussen and Pedro Goncalves went agonisingly close to scoring and Ennis was again denied by a superb last ditch-tackle by Isaiah Bazeley-Graham.

Villa’s Rushian Hepburn-Murphy went close with a long-range effort in the dying minutes but the game ended goalless.
