Darts fever will sweep through the Black Country with the competition broadcast live on Sky Sports.

One player from the BDO will feature in all of the eight groups with Hughes, the only Black Country player involved, making the cut through his ranking with the organisation.

The first group games will be spread over an afternoon and evening session, with the 31-year-old featuring in the penultimate game of the night. ‘Yozza’ Hughes faces van Barneveld in a first-to-five legs affair, with Gerwyn Price and Steve Lennon to clash elsewhere in Group B.

The winners will meet each other in the second group encounter on Sunday evening, with the remaining pairings to toe the oche on Tuesday night.

The knockout stages then begin with the second round (first-to-10) before the quarter-finals, semis and final, the latter trio all operating to a best-of-31 format.

The top two in Hughes’ group merge into Group A, with second round ties against PDC world champion Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross, Joe Murnan and Ross Montgomery.
