In a match reduced to 21 overs, Berkswell raced to 230-5 with Leicestershire opener Ateeq Javid hitting 94 runs from 65 balls.

Liam Weston and Connor Smith each took two wickets for Kidderminster, who decided not to chase such a daunting score.

They closed on 64-5 to earn seven points, with Shameer Ahmed scoring 34. It leaves Kidderminster in sixth on 85 points.

Five points ahead are Walsall and Smethwick, who had their matches abandoned. West Bromwich Dartmouth, who are third bottom, suffered the same fate, but the table is congested with just 17 points separating third from 11th.

In Division Two, Wolverhampton’s match with Himley was abandoned, allowing Leamington Spa to leapfrog them into first.

Halesowen picked up eight valuable points in a draw with Ombersley thanks to a knock of 71 from Shropshire’s Alexei Kervezee. Hassan Qaumi and Eddie Rhodes each took three wickets.
