Walsall star still with 'plenty more to prove' despite impressive form
Evan Weir reckons he still has plenty more to prove despite an impressive start to the season with Walsall.
The Irish defender once more played a starring role as the Saddlers beat Eastleigh 3-0 in the FA Cup first round, opening the scoring and then setting up Daniel Kanu early in the second half.
Weir, who joined from Drogheda United in January 2024, has drawn huge praise for his performances this term having become a mainstay of the team which sits top of League Two.
But the 23-year-old believes has no plans to get carried away by his success.
“I don't feel established yet,” he said. “I think I've still got a lot more to prove.
“I've still got a lot to learn. I’ll feel established after completing a season of a good run of games. A good season behind my back.
