Walsall set for another FA Cup non-league test with Mat Sadler's men handed Gateshead tie
Walsall face a long FA Cup trip to face Gateshead in the second round of the FA Cup.
Saddlers, who overcame Eastleigh in the first round at the weekend, face another non-league side when they travel to Tyneside in the second round of the competition.
The Heed are currently 15th in the National League but overcame League One’s sixth-placed side AFC Wimbledon in the first round, winning 2-0 in south-west London.
The tie will be a long haul for Saddlers followers, however, as they face a near 400-mile round trip to the Gateshead International Stadium.
The second round ties are scheduled to take place across the weekend of December 5-8.
Evan Weir, Daniel Kanu and Jamille Matt scored the goals against Eastleigh on Sunday to secure Saddlers’ progress to the second round.
