The Portuguese-speaking duo struck up a memorable partnership during the 2002-03 to shoot the Saddlers to a 17th-place finish in the Championship.

Leitao was already a firm fan favourite by the time Junior rocked up at Bescot in 2002. The famous frontman had plundered 18 goals in his debut campaign to propel Walsall to promotion via the Second Division play-offs in 2001.

He followed that up with a further 10 in the following campaign, scoring an iconic double in a 2-1 FA Cup upset at Premier League outfit Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup third round.

His strike, the only goal in a 1-0 success over Sheffield United, ultimately secured the Saddlers' status in the First Division at the end of that season.

But Leitao would reach another level entirely in his third season in England and that was thanks in large part to Junior.

Junior arrived from his native Brazil, but had previously played in Europe in Spain, Belgium and France.
