Aston Villa & PSG players left confused after massive Champions League blunder

Aston Villa's second leg clash with PSG on Tuesday night was the club's biggest for decades.

The French giants came to the West Midlands with a 3-1 aggregate lead from the first leg - as they looked to complete the job and book their place in the quarter-finals, where they would face Arsenal or Real Madrid.

The evening was another memorable occasion for Villa, whose return to Europe's biggest stage had seen them advance to the last eight of the competition.

Unai Emery's men were looking to grab the headlines and cause a major upset after their first leg defeat.

But the headlines seconds before the game were not about the football, or what was going to happen on it.

The players lined up before the game to hear the traditional and famous Champions League music blasted out around Villa Park. For some Villa players, it was set to be a special moment.

However, whoever was in charge of the PA system for the evening committed a glaring error.

Players could be seen looking at each other in confusion, as strangely the theme music for both the Europa League and the Europa League was played instead.

The blunder was corrected moments later when the correct Champions League anthem was played.
