Non-league: Late winner keeps play-off hopes alive

Hednesford Town kept their Northern One West play-off hopes alive with an added time winner against Witton Albion.

Nathan Blissett gave the Staffordshire side a lead in just the second minute before Witton responded with a 59th minute penalty that was converted by Ben Harrison.

Hednesford seemed to be running out of time to find their winner until Sion Spence stepped up in the 93rd minute to wrap up the three points and move them into the play-off places in fifth.

They sit one point above Stalybridge Celtic, but have two games in hand, while Chasetown sit one point ahead in fourth.

They won 2-0 at fellow play-off chasers Nantwich Town with goals from George Cater and Sam Unitt.

In the Southern Central Premier, Halesowen Town are keeping up the pace with the league leaders after a 4-0 win over Bishop's Stortford.

Kieren Donnelly gave them an early lead in the eighth minute before adding his second just moments later, putting Halesowen into the ascendency 15 minutes into the contest.

The visitors then had a penalty saved before the Yeltz added a third in the second half through Ryan Wollacott.

After several spurned chances, the fourth finally came from McKauley Manning.

Stourbridge also beat Hitchin Town 3-1 with goals a brace from Tyrone Barnett either side of a Ethan Freemantle penalty.

In the Northern One Midlands, Darlaston Town beat Racing Club Warwick 4-2, while Sporting Khalsa won 4-1 against Coleshill Town.
