Interim head coach Chris Brunt, a legend of more than 400 appearances at The Hawthorns, has so far presided over two games with Damia Abella and Boaz Myhill ahead of the visit of Preston on Wednesday.

Brunt, whose full time role at the club is 'loans manager', was given a Christmas Eve afternoon call to step in after Carlos Corberan departed for Valencia.

Belfast-born Brunt, the club's record Premier League appearance make, sees great potential in the role for Corberan's successor. Andrew Nestor, sporting director at The Hawthorns, is leading the search for a new boss and Albion are in no rush to select the right candidate.

"I'm sure there are hundreds of applicants for the job because it's one of the best jobs going in England at the minute," Brunt said.
