The Baggies went on a run of ten draws in eleven games prior to Wednesday night's win over Blackburn - a victory which puts them back in the top six despite their lack of recent successes.
Fans were becoming frustrated with what felt like predictable draws, but Wednesday's man of the match and goalscorer Karlan Grant insisted the belief never wavered in the Albion camp.
He said: "It was a massive win, we have wanted it for weeks.
"We are just as frustrated as anyone, it has been difficult but we are a good group who stick together and we knew that if we played similar to how we did against Sheffield United, then we would get the win.
"Coventry came here and had a good go, and it never helps when they have a new manager because they are up for it but we kept the clean sheet and got the points."
Grant put in another top class display and scored a superb individual goal to add to his tally of five already this season.
His resurgence following a loan spell at Cardiff City has surprised many and he has tried to put a finger on what is different for him this season.
He said: "I feel good, I have been consistent and I am just working every day on the training pitch and I just want to continue that.
"I've got more belief and it has been great to be back."
