They entertained lowly Bushbury Hill and made it five victories in six with a comfortable 6-2 triumph, netting three in each half. Issac Cooper led the charge for Essington with a fine hat-trick.

Also finding the net for Essington, who head the pack by three points from Claregate Park Rangers and last week’s front-runners Trysull Athletic (their latest fixture was postponed), were Curtis Tonks (two) and Cameron Morris, with both replies from Archie Harris.

Claregate continued their free-scoring form when registering the biggest win of the season so far, sinking luckless Black Country Fusion Development 13-1.

It was a fourth success in five for Andrea Brown’s outfit and, remarkably, no fewer then 10 players shared the goal limelight on this occasion.

The goal spree was led by Rodney Williams, who notched four, along with singles from Kieran Moran, Tom Czerptaninec, Ashley Brown, Kane Lewis, Stefan Barnard, Jordan Stephens, Pinda Deo, Nathan Ratcliffe and Mark Habbershaw.

Sporting Black Country had not enjoyed the best of starts to the Beacon Sunday campaign, but they finally had something to celebrate this week.

They visited fellow early season strugglers Coseley FC and picked up their first points of the season in a 10-goal Concentric Sales & Lettings Western division thriller.

Although Sporting BC held a seemingly commanding 4-1 advantage in the first period, battling Coseley, who had collected just three points from their opening six games, bounced back to level the scores, only for Sporting to make it six of the best late on.

Yasin Peart stole the show for Sporting with an impressive four-goal haul, supported by Scott Pearson’s brace. On target for Coseley were Luke Ellis with a well taken hat-trick and Dan Burns.

At the other end of the ladder, Sedgley Sporting made it six straight victories as the Tipton-based outfit emerged comfortable 7-1 victors at Wrens Nest Rangers as Tom Timmins and Alex Trout bagged doubles.

Also on target for league leaders were Liam Johns, Dom Thompson and Adam Strong. The sole consolation in reply came from Ethan Shelley.

Sedgley have now opened up a five-point gap over Netherton Tigers, who defeated visiting AFC Sporting Gornal 4-2.

Netherton opened strongly with two goals in the opening 10 minutes, before making it 4-1 either side of the break.

The Fellows brothers, Curt (three) and Luke inflicted the damage for the Tigers, as responses came from Corey Massey and James Rawlings.

Woodside Inn moved back into the top three after seeing off an equally strong Blades FC by the odd goal in three.

Adam West fired a match-winning brace for Woodside, with Todd Ferrier keeping things close for the Blades, who pushed the hosts all the way.

Woodside had to overcome a double blow to earn a fourth league win after they lost a player with a broken ankle in the second half and found themselves down to 10 men after a late red card.

Fourth spot in this section is now occupied by CTS United after they ran out 6-2 winners at local rivals Sedgley Rangers.

Jack Kelly fired a double, supported by Jay Crumpton, Owen Harris, Sam Stokes and Brandon Parker, while Joe Waterfield and Greg Corbett replied.

Also among the goals were Dudley Rangers United who got the better of visiting FC Premier 2014, running out clear 7-2 winners.

Rangers were well served by Albie Turner (two), Sam Collier, Nathan Derrick, Joe Sidaway, Scott Fisher and an own goal. Jermelle Banner netted both for the Premier.

The one fixture played in the Advanced Recruit O30s Western section saw Shere Punjab Wolves Seniors get the better of Orton Vale as three-goal Harpreet Sangha helped them to a 7-3 victory.

Also finding the net for Shere were Gagandeep Kullar, Simon Larmour, Neil Uppal, and Amandeep Dhaliwal. Enjoying goal success for Orton were Graham Brown (two) and Karl Rogers.
