Tully Kearney making a splash during her Paralympics training

Plenty of doubt remains over the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympics, but paraswimmer Tully Kearney is doing her best to make sure she stays in race condition.

The gold medal hopeful, from Aldridge, has been impacted by the closure of leisure centres in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak – but she still managed to find some water to practice in.

Kearney posted a picture of her makeshift training in an inflatable jacuzzi – not quite the 50-metre pool she hoped to be competing in this summer. The IOC and IPC continue to press ahead with plans to hold the Games this summer, which has brought them in for some criticism – particularly the IOC.
