Parrys International Wolves displayed plenty of encouraging signs in last Thursday’s narrow Premiership Supporters’ Cup defeat at Peterborough and they’ve also had convincing inter-league challenge fixture victories over Edinburgh and Birmingham.

But they now face their first league action of the season – and boss Peter Adams is keen to make Monmore a fortress in 2019. “We want Wolverhampton to be a difficult place to come to for all opposition,” Adams said. “It goes without saying that we want to get our league campaign off to a winning start but Swindon won’t be an easy fixture for us.

“I’ve been encouraged by the early season performances that take us into the first league fixture but this is where the serious businesses gets started and it’s going to be a tremendous first league meeting, I have no doubt about that.” Wolves will operate rider replacement for Nick Morris who is expected to be out of action for another three weeks with a wrist problem.

Meanwhile the visitors include 2017 World Champion Jason Doyle and ex-Wolf Tobiasz Musielak.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Kyle Howarth, Scott Nicholls, Nick Morris R/R, Rory Schlein, Ashley Morris, Luke Becker.

SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Adam Ellis, Tobiasz Musielak, Dawid Lampart, Troy Batchelor, Zach Wajtknecht, James Shanes.
