The Staffordshire County Cup champions booked their place at the penultimate stage of the competition.

It will take place on Wednesday at Leamington Cricket Club, after their convincing 85-run victory against Shropshire-based side Bridgnorth.

Himley had won the toss and batted first, scoring122 all out in their 20 overs.

Bridgnorth struggled to cope with an excellent Himley bowling attack and their run chase faded under heavy artillery from the Staffordshire side.

They were eventually bowled out for 37 runs in the 17th over. Himley captain Chad Brandrick said: "It was a great victory and fantastic team performance.

"Although we were a little disappointed with our batting performance, our fielding and bowling skills were exemplary on the night.

"We are all looking forward to the finals and, hopefully, we give a good account of ourselves and come out on top on the day."
