WOLVES

Wolves turned down a bid for striker Kevin Doyle, believed to be from Celtic, for striker Kevin Doyle but apparently accepted Nottingham Forest's offer for Stephen Ward on transfer deadline day.

WEST BROM

West Brom made unsuccessful offers for Fulham defender Chris Baird and a loan move for West Ham midfielder Abou Diarra, who instead joined French club Rennes, on deadline day.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa failed in a beat-the-deadline mission to bring in out-of-favour Stoke midfielder Wilson Palacios, but did manage to land Tottenham's Simon Dawkins before the window closed.

BIRMINGHAM

Birmingham didn't actually lose any players on deadline day despite selling Jack Butland to Stoke, who was loaned back until the end of the season, and added Bournemouth striker Wes Thomas.

WALSALL

Walsall left-back Andy Taylor signed a new 18-month contract at the Banks's Stadium on deadline day as the Saddlers continue tying down their stars.
