Kristian Thomas in seventh on gymnastics return
Kristian Thomas finished seventh in the Stuttgart World Cup yesterday on his return to action following London 2012.
The Wolverhampton gymnast earned 87,365 points in Germany as fellow Olympic bronze medallist Dan Purvis was second with 89,397. Thomas top scored in the vault with 16,333 and on the floor with 15,200.
But a disappointing 12,800 on the horse and 13,500 on the parallel bars ended his hopes as Olympic all-around silver medallist Marcel Nguyen won gold. Thomas competes in the Glasgow World Cup at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton cyclist Andy Tennant helped Rapha Condor Sharp maintain their lead at the top of the Elite Championship in the Revolution Series at the weekend.
Rapha are on 125 points, 25 ahead of German rivals Rudy Project RT.
