Chris Hutchings today admitted Walsall are prime targets to be shot down – despite the Saddlers punching above their weight.

Chris Hutchings believes Walsall need an injection of experience after admitting his team can be naive.

A win, coupled with Bristol Rovers dropping points at Colchester, would see Hutchings' men move into sixth and the boss says they are a becoming a scalp.

He said: "We're there to be shot at, teams want to beat us because they know we're on a good run.

"It's nice but it can quite easily be said that as soon as we lose a game it's back to square one and people will hammer you and say 'well, we didn't think they'd stay there too long.' Let's not kid ourselves, we're punching above our weight.

"It's about making sure everyone remains calm and keeps their feet firmly on the ground. We're not even half way through the league."

The Saddlers have suffered just three defeats in 15 league games, but Hutchings says they cannot become complacent. He said: "We're not just the only team on a good run."
