City of Wolverhampton College is a leading provider of post-16 education in the West Midlands.
The college offers a wide range of courses and qualifications for school leavers and adult learners – from beginner to advanced level – a comprehensive apprenticeship scheme and university-level HNCs, HNDs and foundation degrees, as well as community-based learning programmes, a range of ‘get in to work’ schemes to improve employability skills, and a growing sector-based work academy programme enabling people to upskill and retrain in local priority sectors.
The college has two campuses in the city boasting industry-standard training facilities and highly qualified and experienced tutors dedicated to ensuring all students develop the skills and knowledge employers are looking for and progress to successful future careers in their chosen field.
The Paget Road campus, in Compton, has its own sixth form center exclusively for the use of A Level students, as well as engineering and motor vehicle workshops, hair and beauty training salons, a professional training kitchen and a wide range of creative arts facilities including TV and radio broadcasting suites, digital recording studios, print and fashion room, photographic studio and performing arts studio.
The Wellington Road campus, in Bilston, boasts a construction innovation center with dedicated workshops for brickwork, carpentry and joinery, electrical and electronics, gas, painting and decorating, plastering, and plumbing, and training areas for groundworks, plant and rail; as well as modern sports center - featuring a 3G synthetic turf pitch, well-equipped fitness suite, sports hall and dance studio - and a secure autism base.
The college also has a commercial Polymer Training and Innovation Centre - at Stafford Park in Telford which offers specialist technical training and consultancy in injection molding, blow molding and extrusion training; as well as a range of health, safety and environmental IOSH, NEBOSH and NVQ qualifications and polymer processing apprenticeships.
