Hidden gems – Barlow Theatre

Mention the Barlow Theatre on Langley High Street to most people in the Black Country and you will get a blank stare, yet this lovely little repertory theatre has been going for over 75 years.

The regular company presents a selection of plays monthly, and is thriving, regularly attracting a good-sized audience, but that is not why we go there every month.

Once a month a little group of writers and musicians meet up to share their work and discuss matters of interest. The mix ranges from poets Laureate, to those who have never read before, to those who just drop by to be entertained.

The group is not one that you have to join, just come along!

We meet in the foyer/bar of the theatre at 7.30pm and finish around 9.30pm – 10.00 pm. The next meeting is October 28.

The Barlow can be reached from Wolverhampton by driving along the A4123 Birmingham Road towards Wolverhampton. Take the first turning on the left past the 24 hour Asda and follow the road round.
