'Farage and Reform are not fit to lead this country and we need to wake up to this fact quickly' - Your Letters: September 9
PICTURE FROM THE ARCHIVE: Work on building the M54, then known as the Wellington Bypass, in 1973. A temporary bridge spans the deep cutting, where giant diggers are carving out a path for the motorway at Overdale. The image dates from October 3, as work forged on for the route linking the M6.

REFORM ARE NOT READY TO LEAD
I didn't watch Laura Kuenssberg's programme (September 7), but I understand that she asked Nigel Farage what his other plans were for this country possibly about the economy and the problems with the NHS. She may have asked these questions because on September 3 I sent her an email suggesting she should ask him what his plans were for the economy and the NHS. He has said that he doesn't yet have the expertise to comment on these extremely important matters.
Now if I was putting myself forward as a potential PM I would long ago have sought advice and have been able to explain my plans. There must be enough money in Reform to get this information if he couldn't work it out for himself.
I suggested to Laura that he wouldn't have detailed answers because he has reduced our home market and he is in the process of frightening away the non British ancestry workers that keep our NHS and care systems afloat.
The truth is that Farage and Reform are not fit to lead this country and we need to wake up to this fact quickly.
Roger Watts, Walsall
