LETTER: Football not the game I once loved

A reader discusses football.

Giant LED screens show that the VAR is checking a possible red card (AMA)

The latest innovation in football involves the definition of the word "tackle". Apparently, if the ball strikes your tibia or fibula it is considered to be a tackle - how on earth you can tackle using your tibia and fibula is beyond my comprehension.

After the best part of 70 years playing and watching football, I have to say I am reaching the point of not understanding it any more. Fingernails offside, toes offside, handball amendment, etc etc, welcome to the FA's new world of technological wizardry, VAR, additional referees interfering in the game from 100 miles away, and making as many, if not more errors, than the person in charge of the game. When will the administrators realise what they are doing to our national game?
