LETTER: Why don’t they stop rule flouters?

A reader urges shopping centres to punish those not wearing masks.

Shopper wearing a face masks

My wife and I use Merry Hill as a “dry place” to exercise when it is raining (we also shop there as required). There are frequent notices, and “tannoy” announcements (quite loud) to “keep your face covered”.

On each of recent visits, there has been several people walking around without masks. On one occasion, there were four teenagers, all without masks!!!!

Why doesn’t INTU employ wardens , or similarly titled people, to apprehend these people?
