We need to back Theresa May

Since having decided to withdraw from the EU, the media in this country has been inundated with opinions from both ‘pro’ and ‘anti’-EU supporters.

The reality is, however, that having gone through due democratic process, the majority chose to withdraw and no manner of objections against it will change anything!

With this fact in mind therefore, whatever our individual opinions may be, surely it will be in everyone’s interests to now support Mrs May’s endeavours to obtain the best deal possible on our behalf. It is inevitable however, that at this stage of the proceedings there will be a lot of postulating from the remainder of the EU leaders, based upon the fact that:

1) Their pride has been hurt.

2) They are terrified that other countries may follow suite if we are perceived as being able to stand on our own two feet.

3) The Germans and French can see that their passionate desire to want to ‘Lord it’ over a new European Federal State will inevitably end, resulting in them throwing their toys out of the pram!

Would it not be in our own interests therefore, to now put our differences behind us and show collective support for Theresa May’s ‘tough stance’, as taken last week ,recognising the inevitable fact that initially we may not obtain all of our objectives, at the first attempt however, “big trees from little acorns can grow”.
