Organised by Wyre Forest District Council, Worcestershire County Council and local groups, the weekend will see a wide range of different activities being offered for people of all ages and abilities.

Whether people have a preference for walking, cycling, climbing, yoga or dodge-ball, the weekend will be the opportunity to try these activities.

Many are being staged outdoors in the Wyre Forest landscape and others will be located in leisure facilities and community venues.

Officials say that there are big physical health andmental wellbeing benefits from taking part in the event with health chiefs currently recommending that adults undertake 2.5 hours of moderate activity each week in bouts of ten minutes or more.

People who have a physically active lifestyle also have a 20 to 35 per cent lower risk of cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease and stroke compared to those who have a sedentary lifestyle.
