New White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci has Trump’s hand gestures down to a T

Either Donald Trump’s hand gestures are really easy to imitate, or someone’s been poring over the POTUS handbook.

It appears Anthony Scaramucci, the new White House communications director, has been thoroughly researching his new employer.

A side-by-side video compiled by US political satire programme The Daily Show portrays Scaramucci, nicknamed The Mooch, using several Trump-ish hand gestures during his first press briefing last week.

The clip, which has been retweeted more than 29,000 times, was shared by Scaramucci.

Twitter users were (understandably) freaked out.

Donald Trump’s expressive hand gestures are a hallmark of his speeches and have come to define the President’s character in parodies.

Scaramucci, a financier and entrepreneur, was appointed the new communications head last Friday, which prompted the resignation of controversial White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

But he has not always been a Trump advocate – before endorsing him for the Republican nomination, the 52-year-old backed candidates Scott Walker and Jeb Bush.

The Harvard Law School graduate, who supported Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, recently deleted old tweets which he thought conflicted with his new position and the Trump administration.
