The developers of Battersea Power Station have released a glimpse of what its chimney elevator will look like.

They revealed computer-generated images on Friday of the glass lift that will take viewers 109 metres up into London’s skyline at the Grade II listed building from 2021.

It will be a paid-for public attraction at the renovated historic building, which will have hundreds of apartments as well as Apple’s UK headquarters.

The north-west chimney which will house the lift is a replica of the original, which was demolished along with three others because of structural damage.

Viewers will get a 360-degree view of the capital, but if it is height that they are after, The Shard’s viewing platform is more than twice the height at 243m.
