Part of a busy road in Moray has been closed after a crash near a castle.

The incident involved two cars and happened on the A96 at Brodie Castle, close to Forres on Sunday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said there had been injuries and an air ambulance had been called.

Diversions have been put in place for lighter vehicles.

Those travelling west will be diverted north, on back roads behind Brodie Castle, while vehicles travelling east will be diverted south, through Earlsmill.

HGVs will be held on the A96 until the road can be reopened.

Meanwhile, another two-car crash on Sunday has seen northbound traffic on the A9 reduced to a single lane half a mile south of the A977 junction.

A Police Scotland spokesman said there had been no injuries.
