Woman, 95, who died in sliproad crash named by police

The 68-year-old woman who had been driving the car is in a critical condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A 95-year-old woman who died in a crash on a motorway sliproad has been named.

Agnes Brannigan, known as Nancy, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened at the M73 slip road on to the M8.

Ms Brannigan was from the Possilpark area of Glasgow.

The 68-year-old woman driver is a critical condition after her car appeared to lose control heading on the sliproad from the M73 at junction 8 of the M8.

She remains in a critical condition within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Police said the silver Ford Fiesta was heading north when it seemed to lose control, leave the road and crash into a ditch on the verge around 3.30pm.
