Boy, 15, charged over ‘acid attack’

A 16-year-old male was left with life-changing injuries following an incident in Bristol earlier this month.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an alleged acid attack on another teenager.

The charge relates to an incident in a car park off Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, at about 8.45pm on September 1.

Avon and Somerset Police said the alleged victim, a 16-year-old boy, has since been discharged from hospital.

He is still undergoing treatment for his injuries, which were previously described as life-changing.

A force spokesman said: “A 15-year-old boy has been charged with throwing/casting a corrosive fluid with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.”

The 15-year-old is in police custody ahead of an appearance at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
