Police have warned of delays and disruption as they transport the giant tank across the county.

The tank – which is empty, around 40 metres long and six-and-a-half metres in diameter – started its journey yesterday.

It will make its way through Newcastle-under-Lyme Stone, Stafford, Cannock, Brownhills and Shenstone – before finishing in Warwickshire on Friday.

The tank is the second of four oxygen tanks travelling throughout the county in the upcoming weeks, with officers monitoring its progress.

It was travelling through Stafford today before heading to Rugeley and ending the day in Great Wyrley.

Tree cutters and BT engineers are also working to ensure the load fits under trees and cables throughout the journey.
