The car was left on its roof with debris scattered by the crash on Forge Lane.

The stricken white Audi appeared to have been hit trees and a hedgerow to the side of the road in the smash.

Emergency services were sent to the scene at around 5pm on Sunday.

A man, aged in his 30s, has managed to pull himself from the wreckage by the time ambulance crews arrived.

He was given checks at the scene but did not want to go to hospital.

Forge Lane has become an accident blackspot with several crashes in recent years.
