Motorcyclist seriously injured in Himley Road crash

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a car on a busy junction.

The male biker was taken to hospital after colliding with an Audi in Himley Road, Gornal Wood.

It happened on the junction by The Bulls Head pub at around 7pm on Monday.

The driver of the Audi is not believed to have been injured.

The Audi was left with major front-end damage in the impact of the crash near Bull Street and Cinder Road next to the Five Ways Inn.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman Claire Brown said: "We received a call at 6.55pm and one minute later an ambulance was passing and stopped at the scene.

"It was a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle.

"We treated and conveyed a man, the motorcyclist, who had suffered serious injuries, to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment."
