Flight from Birmingham Airport declares mid-air emergency

A flight from Birmingham declared an emergency in mid-air after a passenger was taken ill.

The incident happened on Flybe flight BE786 to Glasgow on Friday afternoon.

The flight was planned to land at 1.45pm and allegedly declared the emergency shortly before 1.30pm after departing Birmingham at 12.45pm.

A Flybe spokesperson said: "Flybe can confirm that flight BE786 landed as scheduled at Glasgow Airport this afternoon with a passenger-related medical situation on board."
