The proposed site revealed in a planing report submitted to Sandwell Council

Developers have earmarked land on Leabrook Road, in Wednesbury, Sandwell, for the new retail units and homes.

A planning report said the proposed site is located on the corner of Leabrook Road and Willingsworth Road.

The report revealed the site has been "vacant for over 20 years", adding: "The proposals will provide a sustainable solution to bring employment and amenity to the area with much needed low income affordable accommodation.

"The scheme will provide large one bedroom apartments above three retail units with associated parking."

Planning bosses will decide on the plans at a future date.
