The proposals are seeking to transform the former shop, at 214 Birmingham Road, West Bromwich, into six flats.

A planning application has been sent to Sandwell Council which will be decided on at a future date.

The plans have been welcomed by Sandwell Councillor Bawa Singh Dhallu, who represents West Bromwich Central ward.

He said: "I welcome these plans because we need more housing and more flats.

"We are short of housing so I welcome that."
