Christian Grinnell, from Whitmore Reans, said it had taken them "long enough" to get to this stage.

A survey of more than 500, carried out by expressandstar.com, called for the deal to be ratified by Parliament during an unusual Saturday sitting.

It comes as shoppers spoke of their disillusionment with the whole process and a desire for the attention of government to turn to other matters.

Andrew Smith, from Dudley, runs a market stall in Wolverhampton – and says the whole process has cost "far too much".

The 40-year-old said: "I voted to leave so I'm all for what Boris is doing.

"He is trying to get it done – it's gone on for far too long now.

"I wanted a lot more control over our laws and stipulations – people are making decisions who don't live here.

"Every country is different, every town and city is different.

"We are the only people wo can understand what's going on here – different climates, different economies.

"Who knows what will happen?

"Theresa May was Prime Minister and I don't think the powers that be wanted her there. BoJo was the guy who wanted in and he's trying to put the deal through as well.

"I don't think it will go ahead – they're too busy with the in-fighting.

"It's costing far too much money. It's been three years – three years of to-ing and fro-ing, what's the bill for that?"

Daphne Beddow, who lives in Codsall, said the in-fighting in Parliament needed to be finished – along with Brexit.

The 69-year-old said: "I think they should get on with it, it's been going on for three years and they squabble like children.

"It's just a bit annoying, but it will be what it will be.

"I quite liked Theresa May, but hopefully Boris will be the right man for the job.

"It'll be nice to be all finished with, so we can move on."

Mahatma Singh, from Penn, said he "hopes" it will be finished.

The 33-year-old said: "I just hope it's over and done with – there's a lot of uncertainty over what is happening and it's not helping anything.

"Boris had them backed into a corner at the start of it, and I reckon all the MPs messed his plan up.

"If they don't vote for a deal, we will crash out.

"A deal sounds better – if builds faith in people and businesses."

Junior Smith, from Nottingham, who works as a market trader in Wolverhampton, said people were losing faith over the delays.

The 50-year-old said: "I don't think the deal will go through anyway.

"Boris should have reached a consensus and then took it over there.

"Without that he has to come back here and fight.

"Theresa May had a deal and that didn't go through.

"And whatever you bring back people can refuse it.

"Everybody wants it finished with now and it's reached a stage where people don't care about what happens.

"It's just like 'whatever happens, happens' – people are losing confidence and faith."

Ashley Onions, from Fallings Park, said the new deal was certain to flop.

The 21-year-old: "I think it's going all downhill.

"I think it's going to flop because we're worse off now than we were with Theresa May and we thought that was bad.

"To be honest, I think Boris is pushing his ideals rather than for the country.

"I'm not as clued up on it as I should be.

"I'm getting tired of it and I think leaving the EU is the wrong decision."

Dave Cresswell, from Codsall, was another who called for MPs to get Brexit finished.

The 63-year-old said: "I just want it to get done and sorted. It's going on and on now.

"It's been three years and I'm just thinking we had a vote, decided to leave and should have just gone.

"We have voted and should've just gone – it's what the people wanted."

Christian Grinnell, from Whitmore Reans, said it had taken them "long enough" to get to this stage.

The 38-year-old said: "I voted out in all forms and it's taken them long enough to do it.

"They are all trying to get another vote, but the way I see it is everyone voted leave.

"People can change their minds, but it wouldn't be enough to get the majority the other way.

"I hope they will get on with it, but I know they won't.

"I think, personally, it all boils down to European greed because they want so many millions – I think they've had enough."
