A protest has been cancelled over the use of a council car park as a make-shift temporary travellers site.

The protest, scheduled to take place at Flood Street, Dudley, was due to take place on September 12.

Councillor Shauqat Ali said Dudley Council leader Patrick Harley has "given an undertaking that there will be no more incursions".

It comes after he accused councillor Harley of using the car park as a make-shift transient site.

But councillor Harley said it was the "lesser of two evils" to use a "redundant" car park, rather than public parks.
