Toyota Camry driver causes major crash after cutting up and clipping motorist

Dashcam footage captures the moment a driver’s lane change goes horribly wrong after undertaking a motorist

Shocking footage has captured the moment a Toyota Camry causes a major crash after cutting up a driver.

The Camry undertakes the car, which had a dashcam and recorded the incident, before signalling to merge into its lane.

The vehicle being cut up gives a long beep to make the Toyota driver aware of its presence, but the Camry continues its manoeuvre – clipping the front of the recording car, losing control and hitting a Toyota Land Cruiser, sending it into both carriageway walls.

NB: Video contains explicit language.

The Camry, meanwhile, nearly overturns as it ploughs into one of the walls.

While the Camry driver is undoubtedly at fault for moving across the lane into the recording vehicle, the driver of the latter appears to show no sign of acting to avoid the collision, despite clearly being aware of the danger – a fact not lost on commenters on the video posted on YouTube.

One said: “Looks like they are both at fault. [The driver recording] saw what was going to happen and should have just let the stupid Camry in, looks like he chose to hit her instead. And Camry should have saw this driver was going to block them out and not let them over.”

Another took a more diplomatic approach, saying: “Would be nice if the cameraman driver was courteous, but the law doesn’t require people to be nice, Camry had the responsibility to yield.”

Further information on the incident, which is believed to have taken place in Norfolk, Virginia, USA, is unknown, but the footage appears to show those involved escaping with no major injuries.
