The new Project 10 is reported to have an all-electric powertrain

Infiniti has released a second image of a new concept car set for a full reveal at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The single-seater, named Prototype 10, takes its inspiration from classic speedsters, while hinting at the design language for future Infiniti models.

The brand has also confirmed that the concept will “provide a window into the brand’s desire to deliver driving pleasure and thrilling performance from electrified powertrains”, alluding to a future series of electrified vehicles.

It continues on from Infiniti’s plans to electrify all of its new production cars from 2021 onwards.

Prototype 10 is due for its full unveil at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event next week, which sees hundreds of classic, vintage and custom cars descend upon Monterey, California.

It follows on from Project 9, which was built in the style of a ‘40s racing car, and also featured an all-electric powertrain. Though this car didn’t give a real indication about what future Infiniti vehicles would look like, it did showcase the brand’s design ideas as well as its ability to implement an electric powertrain into an all-out performance car.

We’ll get a better look at the Prototype 10 next week.
