Montrose in Scotland has been revealed as the easiest place to pass your driving test, with 71.4 per cent of examinations resulting in a pass in 2017.

In stark contrast, Erith in East London proved the most difficult place to get hold of a pink licence, with a pass rate of just 29.9 per cent.

While the overall pass rate has held steady at around 47 per cent, there is a big discrepancy between the likelihood of passing in some areas of London compared with more rural areas such as Montrose.

Behind Montrose was Llanddrindod Wells in Wales with 70.8 per cent. Malton, Yorkshire took third spot with 68.6 per cent, while Whitby and Berwick-On-Tweed took 9th and 10th with 64.6 per cent and 63.8 per cent respectively.

The rest of the list was made up of Scottish test centres, featuring Forfar (67.7 per cent), Arbroath (65.5 per cent), Fort William (65.1 per cent), Crieff (65.1 per cent) and Haddington (64.7 per cent).

“It’s essential that all drivers demonstrate they have the right skills, knowledge and attitude to drive safely.
