This is the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo, the newly updated racer for the brand’s one-make motorsport series.

The new car has received an aerodynamic overhaul, with engineers working to keep the downforce levels the same while reducing the amount of drag to help improve lap times. The body kit was built in collaboration with motorsport experts Dallara Engineering.

Launched at a lavish event at the Italian supercar manufacturer’s factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, a partnership with luxury watchmaker Robert Dubuis was also announced.

In a statement, Lamborghini said: “The two brands share the same values, such as the ongoing pursuit of excellence, the search for innovative materials, and obsessive attention to detail during the production of their precision instruments: namely Roger Dubuis watches and Lamborghini cars.”

The racer’s underpinnings remain unchanged from the Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo first revealed three years ago. That means the Evo is powered by the 5.2-litre V10 that’s also found in the road-going version of the supercar.

Those looking to race the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo in 2018 will have to pay €235,000 (£208,000), while customers with the existing model can buy the Evo body kit to upgrade their car to the latest specification.
