Bugatti delivers first Chiron in the United States

Yellow and black finish for first US-bound near-$3m hypercar

The first United States-bound Bugatti Chiron has been delivered to a customer, and the hypercar has got an eye-catching colour scheme.

Presented to its new owner at last weekend’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the French hypercar is complete with a yellow finish at the front of the car with a black rear section.

The vibrant yellow colour extends to the 21-inch alloy wheels and the details of the otherwise black leather interior, with yellow pleated seats, dashboard accenting and steering wheel stitching. Aluminium trim features on the centre console and on the seats.

Bugatti says North America is its second-most important sales market, following Europe, with almost 30 per cent of Chiron sales coming from the region. In the United States, the hypercar retails at $2,998,000 (circa £2.3m) including shipping, taxes and duties.

The Chiron is limited to 500 units worldwide — with more than half of the allocation already sold. Following the legendary Veyron, it’s the second production car made by Bugatti since its takeover by Volkswagen in 1998.

Thanks to an 8.0-litre W16 engine quad-turbocharged engine that develops 1,479bhp and 1,600Nm of torque, the latest machine to be built in Molsheim is capable of 0-100mph in 4.8 seconds, with an estimated top speed of 261mph — although this has not been verified by Bugatti.
