In addition, a 1.4-litre unit that produces 148bhp, available with either a manual gearbox or a DSG.

Later this month, a 1.5-litre TSI engine will also join the Octavia estate and hatch line-up, available with a manual gearbox initially, with prices starting from £19,615 for the hatch and £20,815 for the estate. A DSG version will follow in the autumn.

As for the Superb, the 1.4-litre, 148bhp engine is now an option. An Alcantara and leather interior is available, too.

Both the Octavia and Superb come equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system as standard, which support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Henry Williams, head of fleet at Skoda, said: “We have added petrol engines to the Skoda fleet range due to increasing demand from customers. Octavia and Superb already offer a formidable package, and by adding even more choice we are demonstrating our commitment to respond to the changing market and the needs of our customers.”
