Skoda reveals price and specification for fastest Octavia vRS yet

New 245 model is available as a hatch or estate with optional DSG auto ‘box

Published

The most powerful Skoda Octavia vRS yet is now available to order in the UK and costs from £27,595.

Skoda’s flagship performance model has received a tune-up, with its 2.0-litre petrol engine now making 242bhp and 370Nm of torque. The 0-60mph sprint is also improved by 0.2 seconds to 6.4 seconds – an electro-mechanical front differential aids traction under acceleration.

It’s available with a six-speed manual as standard or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic ‘DSG’ transmission. The automatic gearbox shifts gears incredibly quickly, though it’s not the most responsive system at low speeds, meaning acceleration times are identical between the two options.

The vRS 245 is available in both hatchback and estate forms – the latter offering excellent practicality, while the extended bodywork does nothing to noticeably affect performance.

Skoda is also offering an upgraded specification for 245 models, with 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels, heated and electrically adjustable vRS sports seats trimmed in Alcantara and a lap timer included as standard.

Other equipment that is standard across the vRS range includes an eight-inch integrated touchscreen with satellite navigation, full LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, plus a three-spoke multi-function sports wheel.

The Skoda Octavia vRS will cost from £27,595 for the hatchback and £28,795 for the estate, an increase of approximately £3,000 over the equivalent 230 model.
