Mercedes E-Class line-up bolstered with All-Terrain and Cabriolet models
Prices for the soft-top start at £44,675; All-Terrain cars begin at £58,880
Mercedes-Benz has added to its successful E-Class range with two new models – the All-Terrain and Cabriolet.
Priced from £44,675 for the E220d AMG Line, the Cabriolet brings open-air thrills to the E-Class line-up. It features a multi-layer acoustic fabric roof that can be operated at speeds of up to 31mph and takes just 20 seconds to open or close. It’s also available in one of three no-cost colour options – black, dark blue and dark brown.
Four engines are available with the E-Class Cabriolet, too. The first is a 2.0-litre diesel producing 191bhp and 400Nm of torque. It has a claimed fuel consumption figure of 57.7mpg and emissions of 126g/km.
The next unit is a 3.0-litre V6 diesel that puts out 254bhp and 620Nm of torque, allowing it to hit 60mph in just 5.9 seconds.
Two petrol engines complete the range. The first is a 2.0-litre that is capable of sprinting to 60mph in 6.4 seconds thanks to 241bhp and 370Nm. The most powerful car in the range is the range-topping E400 4Matic, which utilises a 3.0-litre biturbo V6 engine producing 328bhp and 480Nm of torque. It’s capable of reaching 60mph in 5.3 seconds and will carry on to a top speed of 155mph.
The All-Terrain gives drivers a more versatile alternative to the standard E-Class. Available with just one engine – a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel – it benefits from a ride height raised by 39mm over the standard E-Class Estate. The highest suspension setting allows for a ground clearance of 156mm, giving better off-road capability.
