Birmingham-based bike builders, Mutt Motorcycles, have just revealed a new range of commuter-friendly, small capacity models in time for summer 2017.

The brainchild of Benny Thomas, a renowned custom motorcycle builder and master welder, Mutt Motorcycles offer a range of affordable 125cc and 400cc models that fuse reliable, smaller capacity engines with classic styling.

“Although Mutt Motorcycles have a classic look, feel and sound, they’re designed to be a perfectly useable bike for everyone,” explains Benny Thomas.

“We ensure our bikes are unique in a world of new plastic covered machines, devoid of any real soul.

“But Mutts are also suitable for new riders, experienced riders and are for all ages. They’re incredibly easy to ride and brilliant fun,” he adds.

New to the range is the Mutt Mongrel 2, which features a fuel-injected four-stroke motor, lightweight tube frame and disc brakes at both front and rear.

A flat black stainless exhaust pipe provides the soundtrack, while a contrast brown leather seat finishes off the retro styling. Prices start at a wallet-friendly £2,950 on the road.

Modish variations of the Mongrel include the Baja (£3,700), which takes inspiration from Paris-Dakar racers and 1970′s superbike paint schemes, while The Blackest Sabbath Mutt (£3,500) pays tribute to local band Black Sabbath with a suitable noire colour palette.

The company has also expanded its range with the acquisition of New Imperial, a classic British motorcycle marque that was founded in Birmingham in 1912.

Mutt Motorcycles gave the badge a new lease of life when it revealed the New Imperial 400: Model 1, a single-cylinder twinport 400cc motorcycle with classic styling.

The machine has now sold out but the marque has a fresh range of New Imperial 125cc and 400cc bikes planned for later this year.
