Man dies in industrial accident in Stafford distribution centre

A 48-year-old man has died after an incident at an industrial premises in Stafford.

Emergency services were called out to Acton Gate, near Penkridge, to reports of a man with serious injuries.

He was confirmed dead at the scene, with police officers liaising with the Health and Safety Executive.

A statement from Staffordshire Police said: "We received a report of an incident at a distribution centre at Acton Gate, Stafford, shortly before 6am on Monday.

"The body of a 48-year-old man was found on the premises.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and his family have been informed." The police would not confirm whether it was Argos in Acton gate where the body was found.

West Midlands Ambulance service also sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
