Compton Hospice gets into Christmas spirit with fun new video

Santa hats, tinsel and festive jumpers as far as the eye can see - anything goes in the new Christmas video for Compton Hospice.

Everyone from nurses to kitchen staff, volunteers to Wolves players are involved in the clip, which features them miming along to the Black Country's festive anthem, Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody.

The video also features Santa in his sleigh, with dogs substituting for reindeers, and people dressed up as Christmas trees.

Wolves first team players Dominic Iorfa, Kortney Hause and Jordan Graham - donning reindeer ears - appear, busting moves in the boot room at the Sir Jack Hayward training ground.

Also from the club, fitness coach Tony Daley and goalkeeping coach Pat Mountain have a singalong to the chorus in the dugout.

While mascots Wolfie and Sammy Sunflower are spotted on three occasions playing the air guitar, prancing around the training ground halls and having a kickabout.

Charlotte Lillie, who works in PR and marketing at the hospice, wanted to show that hospices can be bright, vibrant places that are full of life.

"A lot of people think hospices are dark and dreary places to visit so we wanted to change people's perception a little bit," she said.

"The patients who stay with us can still have fun. We put all of the decorations up and made sure everyone knew all of the lyrics to the song.

"They all loved doing the video and really got into the Christmas spirit. We're all still talking about it now.

"Everybody at Wolves were really happy to get involved and Connect PR created the video for free. Hopefully we can make it a yearly thing now because the response we've had, especially on facebook where we have had thousands of people watch the video, has been great."

Paul Berry, spokesman for Wolves, said everyone had had a lot of fun.

"Compton Hospice approached us to see if we could help out and I think everybody in Wolverhampton knows how important their role is, so we were more than happy to get involved with the video," he said.

"Our players may have been a little out of their comfort zone but they really enjoyed themselves, as did Tony Daley and Pat Mountain. Hopefully the video can continue to grow in popularity and get some more views over the festive period."
