Two fires have broken out this afternoon on a electricity pylon near to the M6 in Great Barr - with smoke visible for miles.
West Midlands Fire Service warned smoke from the blazes in Ray Hall Lane could affect the M6.
Firefighters from Aston and West Bromwich were called to the incident in Ray Hall Lane, Great Barr at midday and had to wait for the electricity board to turn off the electric so they could start tackling the blaze.
Supplies have been re-routed by Western Power engineers and there has been minimal disruption to supplies.
An investigation has now been launched into the cause of the fires.
