Retail giant Sainsbury's is due to open its new store in Raglan Street next week.

The new highly anticipated supermarket has been more than a decade in the making.

The current city centre store in St George's Parade will close a day earlier, with some 200 staff from there joining 250 new recruits at Raglan Street.

The new supermarket will include a cafe, gym, petrol station and recycling centre.

Work is expected to end on June 30, with the following 10 days to be spent stocking the shelves.

Sainsbury's fought a bitter battle with rival Tesco which went all the way to the courts in a bid to secure the site.
